Uptown Brisbane is bringing all the holiday magic and wonder back to the Queen Street Mall and Brisbane City this November and December, decking the retail and food halls piece by piece into a Christmas destination filled with a brick-load of festive family fun.
Ben The Brick Builder, will reimagine Uptown for the holiday season, creating Festive Uptown Queen Street Mall Windows made from LEGO® bricks that capture both timeless traditions and a modern vision of a River City Christmas. From 15 November, visitors will marvel at three original diorama displays: ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, a life-size room rendered in LEGO® bricks that captures the anticipation of Christmas Eve; Winter Wonderland, a classic alpine village scene in miniature with hidden details; and Festive Postcard with Santa flying high above the Brisbane City skyline.
The Brick Builder will also present hands-on Uptown Festive Workshops with LEGO® bricks from 30 November, inspiring fans of miniature LEGO® bricks to create their own custom Christmas decorations to take home.
Makers from age 18 months + can also enjoy free family-friendly activities from 10am daily in the Festive Play Zone, including DUPLO and LEGO® Bricks, crafting Christmas cards and contributing to an oversized LEGO® bricks by numbers artwork.
Capture all the joy of the season with a Festive Photo moment at the pop-up 2.1m-high Christmas tree, available between 28 November and 24 December from 10am daily, where you can snap a selfie for a brick-tacular take on the traditional Christmas pic.
Elevate your gift-giving experience with our charity gift wrapping service on Level Q, available from December 12 this year supporting two charities, HeartKids and Rural & Regional Scholarship, Sommerville House Foundation.
We will continue to offer customers value parking options throughout the Christmas period and will be encouraging increased visitation specifically on weekends with $10 parking when customers book online.

Uptown Queen Street Mall Windows
This year visitors can enjoy a Brisbane City Christmas tradition with three festive scenes that capture the Uptown spirit in our Uptown Queen Street Mall Windows – ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Winter Wonderland and Festive Postcard – rendered in LEGO® bricks by The Brick Builder.

Meet the Artist - Ben the Brick Builder
Uptown has partnered with Ben Craig, a certified and lifetime LEGO® Brick fan who will bring fun, playfulness and a family friendly spin on Christmas at Uptown.
Ben has a background in events, marketing, and communications. This background has helped to shape the experiences delivered through The Brick Builder. The Brick Builder is an independent experience and artistic organisation that uses LEGO® bricks.
His works have ranged from 6-metre-long caravans, installations in international airports, and numerous private and public commissions.
Uptown Festive Workshops
Book in to learn all the creative tricks and construction techniques in a dedicated hands-on workshop delivered by Ben the Brick Builder, including your own personalised, festive LEGO® brick bauble decoration to take home.
When: From 30 November until 24 December 2024, from 10am

Have a block party with LEGO® bricks in Uptown’s free festive activity space. Stamp your own Christmas card, contribute to a large LEGO® brick by numbers artwork and take a selfie with the 2.1m-high Christmas tree for a ‘block’-buster photo opp.

Wrap It Up - Christmas Gift Wrapping
Uptown is thrilled to be partnering with HeartKids and the Rural & Regional Scholarship - Sommerville House Foundation to provide gift-wrapping services, adding the finishing festive touch to up to three items for a donation.

Uptown offers easy access to festive shopping and activities with $10 online weekend parking and $10 parking after 4pm on weekdays.
